Happiness in a cup

Last June 7, 2012, I was invited to the Coffee Academy event over at the Center for Culinary Arts-Manila. It was like a graduation and launch all rolled into one. The Coffee Academy will start to offer short courses on Coffee, Espresso Making, Barista Skills, etc. by July. Before they open these short courses to the public, they gathered up 20 professionals in the field of culinary and trained them. They would later on be the trainers of Coffee Academy, Philippines.

Since the event was all about coffee, there was unlimited supply of coffee for two hours. If only hyperacidity did not get the best of me, I would have drank more. :)

Cappuccino
The Coffee Academy tied up with Boyd's Coffee - for their equipment and coffee beans. They used Midnight Blend for all the coffee and I must say, I like this mix. It's probably how they extracted the caffeine out of the ground beans but it was sweet enough to drink alone. Or maybe it was just me and my liking for things on the slightly bitter side.

Of course coffee needs to go with food. Hahaha. So Cravings provided the guests with a finger food.

Kani Salad + Chicken Empanada

Tuna Pesto Pasta w/ Roasted Veggies

Brownie + Revel Bar + Cream Puff
It was quite an odd selection of food since not all of it went with coffee. The kani salad and chicken empanada were good and tolerable with coffee. Then came the weirdest food - the pasta. I don't know if  the dish turned cold because it took the waiters a long time to serve it or it is supposed to be cold. Nonetheless, it was horrible. I had a bow tie or two then left it on the table. Afterwards came the pastries~~

Latte Macchiato with pastries
My last cup of coffee, a latte macchiato which I intended to eat with those pastries but the moment I took a bite of the brownie, I regretted helping myself with these. Maybe it's just me but I found these pastries too dry and it barely went well with my coffee. -_- How sad could that be, no good food with coffee. :(

Well, the food wasn't the highlight of the event so I guess CCA and William Angliss did a spledid job with the launch! :) I'm quite excited for the Coffee Academy to open, I will definitely enroll myself in a course. mihihihi
