Baguio's Diplomat

It's the nth time I've been to Baguio and every time I visit this place, I always end up going to the same places and doing pretty much the same things. This time, I made sure to do a little planning and research on the things I want to visit and do. Having only one full day in the city, it was quite a challenge picking the places I want to visit.

There were four things on my list: The Old Diplomat Hotel, Kape Umali, La Comida De Antonio Ristorante and of course, Wagwagan. These (except for wWagwagan) are places I've never been to or heard of before. Thanks to Trip Advisor and some friends, I found these places.

The Old Diplomat Hotel


I've never heard of the Old Diplomat Hotel in Baguio. I know some of the haunted places there but I've never heard of this one 'til this trip. Situated in Dominican Hill, it's quite a challenge to go to. I was planning on walking going there since it was more or less 2 km away but I ended up taking the cab. I was glad I took the cab, the Old Diplomat Hotel is located all the way up Dominican Hill. My legs would have probably died if I did.

This place is open from 8 AM to 5 PM. There is no entrance fee and no guide to give you a tour of the place. Famous for it's eerie look and feel, haunted stories and history, it has become a favorite for pre-nup, debut and other photo shoots. There are two fountains located on the first floor which makes beautiful instant backdrops to any photo.

The house consists of three floors (including the rooftop) but only one is open to tourists. I don't know why they don't allow tourists to explore the whole place. The second floor looks a lot scarier too.

I went around to check the surroundings of the house and the moment I stepped out, the fog was slowly creeping into the house. It just made the whole experience creepier and more eerie.

Behind the house was a walk way covered in trees but it seemed like a private property. There was some sort of gate at the end of the walk way so I didn't bother check it out anymore. Looking back, maybe I should have. Maybe there was another house up there or a cooler place. lol

This seminary turned hotel turned ruins turned tourist spot has so much history behind it. It would be great if the local government takes over and puts tour guides. It's quite a waste of this historical building because it's just known for being haunted.

When in Boracay

I'm alive! Plus I made a few changes on my blog :)

Three months, it's been three months since my last post. It's not like anyone awaits my posts anyway haha! I went on a little adventure over the summer and instead of posting some rant or emotional shizz, I shall write about my adventure/s!

Last May, I went to Boracay with my friends. Nope, it wasn't during the LaBoracay weekend. It was during the week after that. We stayed there for two weeks and maaaaaaaaaaaan did we run out of things to do! Hahaha! But there were a couple of things that we didn't get tired of: sun, food, alcohol & dancing. Yes, dancing. We were dancing everywhere, all day, everyday. We can't help it! Hahaha

These girls made the two week stay in Boracay seem like it was too short. Honestly, it was! I wish we could just sleep under the sun, eat, swim and dance. Hahaha Speaking of eating, here are some of the MUST TRY dishes and restaurants in Boracay!

We stayed in Station 2, near La Carmela which meant we were a stone's throw away from Gusto y Gustos and Dos Mestizos! We instantly fell in love with both restaurants. For the second week of the trip, we had breakfast in Gusto y Gustos everyday. The bread was freshly baked - and good too! There's a variety of breakfast sets and sandwiches to choose from!

I can go on and on about my Boracay trip but I'll put an end to your torture and stop here. Haha! I think I need a rest from all the Boracay trips. That's the last time I'll be there this year. HAHA.

Takot

May kinakatakutan ka ba?
Ako, marami.
Isa sa mga pinakakinakatakutan ko ay yung masaktan. Hindi ko kasi alam kung anong gagawin o paano ba paalisin ang sakit na nadarama sa tuwing nasasaktan ako. Malabo ba?

Itong mga nakaraang araw, nahihirapan ako matulog… actually, takot ako matulog. Kahit inaantok na ako, parang ayokong ipikit ang aking mga mata dahil sigurado akong makikita kita.

Makikita kita, hindi kita mapaalis. Maalala ko ang lahat, hindi ko 'yun makalimutan. Masasaktan lang ako at hindi ko alam kung paano 'to paalisin.
Paano nga ba?

Tulad ng lagnat, sipon, ubo atbp., meron bang gamot para sa pusong sugatan?

Noong Y!M pa ang gamit ng mga tao para magusap, isa sa paborito kong gawin ay ang subukang gumuhit. Ginuhit ito ng aking kaibigan, pinahuhulaan nya kung sino 'to. Ikaw, kilala mo ba sya?


Sya ang lagi kong nakikita sa tuwing ipipikit ko ang aking mga mata, boses nya ang lagi kong naririnig kapag tahimik ang paligid. Masasabi ko bang iniiiwasan ko sya? Gusto ko ba syang iwasan?

Ewan ko, bakit ba ang hirap masaktan. Hindi ba't masmasakit at masmapait kapag alam mong masasaktan ka kumpara sa andyan na 'yung sugat, hindi s'ya gaano kasakit.

Ilang oras na ba ang nakalipas, hindi parin ako makatulog sa takot na muli akong masasktan pag nakita kita.

Bacolod Food Chronicles: Cafe Bob's

Before heading to Bacolod, I was told of the places/restaurants that I should visit. Cafe Bob's was somewhere on the top of the list.

Cafe Bob's is along Lacson St. and it's this wonderful glass establishment that takes advantage of the sunlight. Their interior was cute - it was like one of those small cute cafes except it was big. Troll.

Red Velvet Cake
Their food was meh there was nothing new, interesting and highly exciting about it. Especially the frappe that I ordered. If I remember it right, it's a coffee-based drink with Oreos blended into it. I took a sip and no Oreos in it. If only I knew that they meant Oreos will be used to garnish the drink, I would have ordered something else.

It wasn't all that bad though, their Red Velvet cake was good. Although I'm still on the look out for that perfect Red Velvet, this can be a basis for when I taste other Red Velvet cupcakes or cakes. The prices though were a bit cheaper than it would be in Manila but compared to other cafes in Bacolod, Cafe Bob's would be on the slightly expensive side. It was worth a try. I would definitely go back and try their other pastries and pizzas.
